The week is finally coming to an end – or maybe its just getting started! On the Brazil end, we have been working hard all week to get ready for the first American team to arrive and to do camp at a church in the. São Sebastião Today topped off the week as we ran our last errands and worked to get the church ready. This morning we split up, the guys (Brent and Andre) went to the grocery store and bought 4 carts full of food for the two teams. We took all of these food items back out to Aqua Viva, got them put away and then went to lunch. The girls ran some other items out to Aqua Viva this morning, ran some errands in town and then waited for us to get back.
After this we topped off the day by heading to the church that team 1 will be working with. You will see in the photos the set that we will be using for the theme “Demais,” which is a Portuguese term meaning “Enough, too much, etc. (in a good way)” This is something that we worked on for many hours, but in the end turned out so great. One of the guys who will be working with us this week was able to help us out as well, which was great to meet him and to have some extra help. Also, the coordinator from the church, Sandra, stopped by to give us some snacks and to see how things turned out. She liked it a lot and we are all excited about what will happen this week in São Sebastião.
Team 1 is on the plane as I type on their way to Sau Paulo. They will land there about 7:00am in the morning (5:00 ATL time) and will be in Brasilia by 2:00pm. The team will then meet up with the Brazilian volunteers for lunch and then we will start training for the Demais Program! We are eager to meet them here and we are praying for safe travels for the team. We will keep everyone updated throughout the weeks – Can’t wait!
Tchau (bye).
